Trip report Oct.25th-28th

I agree with other post about Tunica,if you have been to LV,it is different. We got comped the hole trip so it was a no brainer to go. We left Canton airport Sat. on a junket to Tunica with a group of people and their host. The host had no agenda for us because I booked directly with Harrahs and was told we would be staying at the Sheraton, well it ended up that we stayed at the Terrace hotel with the rest of the group. The host said there was a mistake made when we booked about the Sheraton stay. Was kinda mad but got over it when I seen the Terrace hotel,it was nice and clean with good service.

On the shuttle to the hotel my first thought was(I need a car.) Got our info from the desk clerk on how to get to the casino and I have to say the shuttles to Harrahs came every 5 min. so there was no problem with that. We really liked Harrahs casino, but I wanted to see more of the Tunica casinos. There also was a shuttle that takes you to the Horseshoe,Gold Strike and the sheraton,so we hopped on that shuttle from Harrahs. I liked the Horseshoe and even won a little bit there. Went back to Harrahs and won 500.00 on the wheel of fortune. It was about 1:00a.m. and decided to pack it in for the night. Went back to the Terrace and slept like a baby. The beds were so comfortable. I didn%26#39;t think I would like being so far from the casinos but it was nice and quiet and gave me a break from all of noise in the casino. Sunday we went back to Harrahs for the Paula Dean buffet and It was very good.Stayed and played some more and went back to horseshoe and won a little on the slots. Decided to check out the Gold Strike and wished I hadn%26#39;t,lost what I won at the Horseshoe.

Monday we rented an car and decide to check out the other casinos. I have to say I wasn%26#39;t to thrilled with most of them except for Sams Town. Didn%26#39;t gamble at any of the other casinos. We decided since we had the car we should drive to Memphis and see Beale St. It was a short drive and we ate at the Interstate. Very good ribs. Well we found Beale St. and we had a ball just going into the different stores and bars, I loved the whole history of the street. Spent the rest of the day and most of the night on Beale St. then we headed back to Tunica, had to pack for the flight home the next day.

I don%26#39;t think I would return to Tunica,it was a nice place to visit and see for the first time. I think I would like to check out Biloxi the next time.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and we also liked the same things you mentioned. I am glad to see that you made it to Beale St (lots of history there)

Thank you very much Crafty. Enjoyed your report. Congratulations on your wins!

Ducky or Buick, have either one of you been to Biloxi? I am certainly interested in that area. I mostly go to Las Vegas every year but I would like to see some other casinos since I%26#39;m from Ohio and we have no casinos in this state.

I visited Biloxi several times before the hurricane and had an absolutely wonderful time. I am told it is different now that boats and hotels have been rebuilt. The casinos are closer together than in Tunica -- I%26#39;m pretty sure that hasn%26#39;t changed. I loved the Isle of Capri (which was located on the Biloxi end) because the hotel and casino were connected, great food, good wins, etc. Several of the casinos had their hotels across the street but the Grand was connected to its hotel by a covered walkway. The ones with no covered walkway were still very close.

We also enjoyed the fact that we could hop in the car and drive to the Gulfport end for another group of casinos -- although not as many and they were spread out. Again, I don%26#39;t know if this has changed. There were tons of great restaurants.

Hope this helps. Sorry I don%26#39;t have more up-to-date info.

We have been to Biloxi...stop once each summer on the way home from visiting our daughter, and just be prepared for the obvious signs of damage that still exist from Katrina. The Gulf communities are working hard to come back from such utter devastation, but it will still take time since the lack of trees alone still just makes me emotional.

You will not meet more friendly people anywhere, and I encourage people to help them out by paying a visit anywhere along that stretch of coast :)

Thank you both for your in put. Next year I think I will visit Biloxi. Again thanks.
