Will be in Biloxi area around 4/26 for a few days and would like to stay at either the Beau, the Hard Rock, or IP. Am looking for low , but legit, hotel rates. Will never get a room comped..only do penny slots with couple of bucks!....But love to shop, eat and see local history. I love the area. Also, need advice on meal deals at casinos. Am grateful for a getaway, but must do so on a shoestring. Thanks.

frugelgal5: The Grand which is owned by Harrahs is getting $69 a night for that week
, without using a Total Rewards card. We are going 4/26- 4/29 and are comped all 3 nights and are only penny slot players. The Grand%26#39;s breakfast buffet is $6.99 and the lunch buffet is $8.99.( at least it was in October )
Unfortunately there is no shopping to be had at the Grand, but if you have a car at your disposal, you can take advantage of the low rate at the Grand and drive to shopping and sightseeing and the other casinos.
Get a players card before you start playing ANYWHERE; you%26#39;ll be surprised at the breaks you%26#39;ll get at any of the places. We favor Harrahs - owned casinos as they tend to reward penny slot players a little more favorably in our experience. Also we like to go to Vegas and a Harrah%26#39;s Total Rewards card gives you a discount at Ballys, Paris, Harrahs, Flamingo, Caesars, Imperial Palace and the Rio.
Visit the websites for the Beau Rivage, Hard Rock and IP and see if they are competitive price-wise with the Grand. We stay at the Grand, but visit all the casinos when we%26#39;re there. The Beau does have stores attached and is probably the most centrally-located if you can swing a good deal rate-wise. Maybe we%26#39;ll see you in 23 days, have fun and good luck. Mark

frugelgal, click on the below link.... it%26#39;s a good site to compare hotel rates. Also lots of other information that might be helpful. IP would be a more ';frugel'; hotel than the Beau or Hardrock.
I stayed (comped)at the HR and didn%26#39;t think it was worth the $$ if not comped. JMO
We also enjoyed the buffet at IP. If you get the chance, take a nice beach drive over to the Island View Casino in Gulfport. That%26#39;s our fav because of the buffet and all the penny machines they offer. The traffic can be a little slow in some spots due to the road construction. Have a great trip and looking forward to hearing about it when you return.

Thank you for your advice. I did not know one was comped for penny slots...because...We stayed at the Beau last April...learned how to play the slots for the first time (spent about $50 gambling), ate all of our meals there, shopped there, had a great time...we didn%26#39;t even go to another casino! Called them 2 days ago and asked if I could get a deal on a room ...gave them my player%26#39;s card number...and they said they did not have anything for me. Was a bit taken back as I thought they would want a returning customer...especially with the economy being what it is.
As far as a hotel, I am frugel, but do not want to stay just anywhere...So is the Grans nice?
Sorry frugal, IMO, $50 at the Beau is not much spent to expect a lower hotel rate. Yes, you can get comped playing pennies, but as you know, you can spend a lot more than pennies when you push that button. I%26#39;ve stayed at the Grand many times because of the comped rooms and all I can say about the rooms is they%26#39;re clean. Nothing fancy or great....just clean. The casino is ';';very';'; small compared to the Beau, HR, IP, Isle etc etc.
From what other posters have said, they get more comps at the IP. I haven%26#39;t stayed there since before Katrina, so can%26#39;t comment on the rooms, but the reviews look good compared to the Grand. We always get good offers from the IP even though we rarely get over there. Not because I don%26#39;t like the IP, we just seem to play at either the Isle (horrid buffet-we don%26#39;t eat there), but we like the slots or the HR, or Island View.
If you liked the Beau, you should stay there so you%26#39;ll have an enjoyable trip. Whatever you decide, have fun.
It%26#39;s not on the IP web site, but go there to make reservations, put in the code ';DMX';, should be $39 per night Sunday thru Thursday.
Just returned from Biloxi, spent one night at the Isle and one at the IP. IP superior by far.
