First Harrah's junket to Tunica.....many questions

We%26#39;ll be staying at the Veranda...is it good/bad %26amp; has their remodeling been completed? We%26#39;d like to have a smoking, 2 queen bed room....any suggestions or a room you%26#39;ve stayed in and enjoyed?

I realize...from this forum, that the hotel is not attached to the casino and we%26#39;ll be taking the shuttle and it runs 24/7. What about the other casinos and a shuttle to visit them? I did a search in the forum, but only found old info so I%26#39;m hoping someone has some updated info to share.

We%26#39;ll be there two days and would really love to try and visit them all.

Buffets....is the seafood buffet at the Horseshoe(or was it Goldstrike) still one that is recommended? Any recent opinions on Paula Deans buffet or any others?

I%26#39;d love to have any %26amp; all information %26amp; opinions on ';anything'; that is related to the Tunica casinos.

Thank you all who respond.

We stayed in the Terrace, but they are the same thing and really nothing to ask for since the views are all of the surrounding field (other than there is a large pond/small lake if you want that view)

There are no other shuttles to the other casinos...only the Harrah%26#39;s shuttle from your hotel to the Harrah%26#39;s/Sheraton/Horseshoe/Gold Strike pod of casinos.

Fitzgerald%26#39;s and Bally%26#39;s both stand alone.

Sam%26#39;s Town, Hollywood, and Resorts (used to be Harrah%26#39;s) are the farthest south pod of casinos.

You need transportation to get around since the pods (or casino groupings) are not walkable.

The Paula Deen Buffet is excellent, Gold Strike has always been good, Sam%26#39;s BBQ (called Corkey%26#39;s) is really good. The Hollywood buffet used to be good, but I just ate there a couple weeks ago and don%26#39;t think I%26#39;ll be back since it also wasn%26#39;t as good last summer when I was there.

Forgot to mention that I read on another person%26#39;s post that the small airport at Tunica had an Enterprise car rental desk, so you may want to go to their website or call and see what the rates are to rent a car...then you could also visit the park and ride the paddleboat or even drive to Memphis since it%26#39;s only about 30 minutes away (Graceland is on the south part of the city so recommend a stop there and Beale St. in the downtown area if you have time)

in which hotel/casino is the paula dean buffet located?

Harrah%26#39;s...go to the back of the casino (north end) and up the escalator. It alone is worth a trip to Tunica :)
