Biloxi

We are planning a trip to Biloxi in June. WE have a mixture of children going with us that range in age from 4 to 18. Wanted to see if there are things for all ages in Biloxi and if the water is okay to swim in? Looking at staying at the Seabreeze condos. thank you!

Biloxi

Saw folks in the water last year. Unless you are coming for the casinos, I would drive a little further and hit Alabama beaches, Gulf Shores or Orange Beach. More restaurants available, the zoo, water parks, put-put, etc.

We enjoy visiting the Biloxi/Gulfport area, but for the casinos, not the beach.

The Seabreeze Condos are a great place to stay particularly with a family with kids. For the little ones there is a smaller heated pool that has a large sit on edge in the water. The pool is not very deep. There is a second larger pool for the older kids. The condos do sit right on the beach which I think is really great so you can sit at the pool and keep an eye on the kids if they go to the beach. The water is not the pretty turqouise color you get in the Bahamas but it is clean and is checked by the town daily. Little kids love it because it is very shallow for a long way out and nice calm water with no waves. The kids that are over 14 might like to rent the waverunners at the beach located next to Beau Rivage which is a few miles up the beach. There is a community room with a kitchen next to the pool area that is nice to keep drinks and food cold if you don%26#39;t want to bother with a cooler. There is also a dvd machine in there where you can take movies to your condo, or enjoy them on the huge t.v. located in the community room. The Waffle house is an easy walk along the beach for breakfast or lunch and Hooters is right across the street. The Treasure Bay Casino is across the street as well so can you walk to it in just a few minutes. The Discovery Museum is nice for the little ones as well as the water park located in the next town over, Gulfport. Just a short drive away. If you have any skateboarders, there%26#39;s a great outdoor skate park just a few minutes away as well. For other things to do take a look at ctyankeeinbiloxi.com

If you are coming to Biloxi for the beach...forget it!!! The water is salty, but it is NOT the real ocean. The outer sandbars and barrier islands eliminate the surf and waves entirely. You have to go east of Mobile Bay to get the real Gulf waters and true white beaches. Biloxi%26#39;s specialties are casinos and a recovering deep sea fishing industry.
