My husband and I are flying into Gulfport next week on our way to Dauphin Island for a week. We have rented a car and plan to drive from Gulfport to DI on Highway 90 which we thought would be more scenic and wanted to visit Jefferson Davis%26#39;s home. Is this a good idea or would we better off taking Highway 10? Also we are going to do a little grocery shopping before we hit the island. Where can we find some good steaks? Thanks for any help or ideas on sights that we should not miss.

Jefferson Davis home just reopened, I believe, after sustaining quite a bit of damage from Katrina. Continuing on Hwy. 90 you may want to explore downtown Ocean Springs with its quaint little shops. After your cross the bridge in between Biloxi and Ocean Springs, turn right off Hwy. 90 at the next red light. Not much to see in Gautier or Pascagoula. I would get on I-10 after Ocean Springs. Can%26#39;t help with the steaks, but there is a Walmart in Mobile close to Dauphin Island Parkway for grocery shopping.

Thanks so much for your help. We have been to the Walmart in Tillmans Corner. We thought this time we might shop at Gulfport. I%26#39;d like to visit the shops in Ocean Springs too. Thanks again.
