Has anyone visited Harlow's Casino in Greenville, MS

Can anyone give me a review of Harlow%26#39;s casino in Greenville, MS? What kind of restaurant and attractions does Greenville have to offer?

Okay. I know absolutely nothing about what the casino has to offer . . . though I have driven past it while crossing the river into Arkansas on a few occasions. It is a very attractive, very NEW construction. I do know that it has an entertainment arena--George Jones performed there recently and other notables are expected soon--John Anderson, Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson, etc.

Greenville doesn%26#39;t have a lot of ';chain'; restaurants. Having said that, however, there are several very good eateries in the area--most notably Doe%26#39;s Eat Place (nationally renowned for its steaks and hot tamales, as well as its location and eclectic decor) and Posecai%26#39;s Restaurant (gourmet restaurant run by a N.O. trained chef). Sherman%26#39;s is also a good restaurant to try. Fermo%26#39;s is a nice Italian restaurant in town . . . . Tabb%26#39;s has excellent barbeque. San Juan, El Charro and El Toro offer good Mexican fare. If you%26#39;re willing to drive about 15 minutes, Lillo%26#39;s in Leland (also Italian) and the Bourbon Mall (great steaks and unique catfish dishes) are good as well. Connie%26#39;s Kitchen, a business run by local Mennonites, affords excellent fare in the way of auce catfish and shrimp on Friday nights--it is also in Leland (oh, you won%26#39;t want to miss Connie%26#39;s cinnamon rolls and other baked goods--they are to die for).

As far as attractions go, we have all the ';normal'; small town amenities--a very nice new movie theatre and a recently refurbished bowling alley. There are a few nightclubs in the downtown area; the local chamber of commerce is committed to building up that part of town as the Blues District. I can%26#39;t comment on that because DH and I are homebodies and don%26#39;t get out on the town much. We have a few small museums that may be of interest--Greenville was devastated by the Great Flood of 1927; both the Greenville History Museum and McCormick%26#39;s Book Inn have extensive exhibits which depict the flood, relief efforts, etc. Just west of town is Warfield Point Park, situated next to the Mississippi River, w/ a look out tower and recreation area. North of town is another small park/museum, Winterville Mounds--devoted to preserving the site and history of mounds used in Native American ceremonies. And . . . Leland offers the Jim Henson Muppet Museum and a blues museum (I think). There is a franchise of the ABA--the Mississippi Stingers, I believe--their home court is at the Washington County Convention Center.

As far as shopping goes, the mall doesn%26#39;t offer much, but if you get out and look around, we have a number of boutique type shops that offer some unusual things--Lagniappe, Crystal Frog, and others that don%26#39;t come to mind immediately (I%26#39;m not much of a shopper).

Hope it helps!

I has a restaurant that has a seafood buffet, and a quick order restaurant that has the biggest best hamburgers! We won over $600. on the Penny slots, unbelievable, enjoy, we loved it.

I%26#39;ve gambled there just a little, enough that I was on their mailing list and got a great offer from them for Valentine%26#39;s day. We had a beautiful suite, a wonderful seafood buffet (small buffet, but very tasty), saw a great show, etc. We really enjoyed it, had a great weekend. I%26#39;ll be going back. There%26#39;s not a lot in Greenville, it%26#39;s a very poor little town, and the water is brown, for some reason, although the casino does a better than average job of filtering that out. It%26#39;s only slightly brown there.

There was a restaurant that doesn%26#39;t appear on here, only five in Greenville DO for some reason, but a little drive through line at a TRAILER called ';Hot Tamale Heaven'; that should not be missed. I picked up a dozen to take home, but had the chile pie (three tamales with wonderful chile over them) to enjoy before I started driving home. I%26#39;ll probably never visit Greenville without a quick stop there.
