Econo Lodge location

I am interested in the Econo Lodge on E. Clay St. I think it used to be a Comfort Inn. Is this location a safe area? I have stayed @ the Best Western there %26amp; thought the area was OK, but don%26#39;t want to go back to that hotel.

We just need a clean, safe spot for 1 night. We prefer the hotels with outdoor corridors, so we can walk right out to the car.

Thanks for any info!

We stayed a bit further out on E Clay St. at a Courtyard that we got through Priceline. We drove all the way down Clay to the river while we were there. I don%26#39;t remember the Econo Lodge%26#39;s location, but I didn%26#39;t notice anyplace along the way that looked undesireable so you should be alright.

Sandy,

This hotel is NOT at the same exit as the BW.

This exit (4) is kind of funny...

East Clay (at I-20) has a LOT of hotels properties, many of them very new.

IF on the NORTH side of I-20, these hotels are ';safe%26#39; and right by the entrance to the National Park.

IF on the SOUTH side of I-20, Then the properties on the SOUTH side of Clay street are OK.

Those on the NORTH side of Clay Street (SOUTH of I-20) are kind of ...well, no, I would NOT book them, even for one night.

See if there is another hotel in your rewards plan, or another in you rprice range.

These are at that exit, and WOULD be OK:

Hampton Inn

Quality Inn

Comfort Suites (new one)

Holiday Inn Express

La Quinta

Jameson Inn

I am not sure which ones of these have outdoor entrances. There seems to be some confusion as to WHERE this hotel is located according to the TA hotel map, but this ADDRESS IS in what I would call the ';questionable'; area. There are a few older properties on that side of the road that are just ...gross. Too many other choices.

You could also call them (local number) and clarify the location.

Sorry for such a long explanation. Even though Vicksburg is not that big, there are definitely ';good'; %26amp; ';bad'; areas in this town.

Have a good trip.
