Where to stay...

After reading the previous posts, it seems as if the Sheraton and Horseshoe are the nicer resorts to book at? We are Vegas junkies and always stay at Bellagio. PLEASE tell me which hotel in Tunica is the best...highest-star...top rated..most luxurious (I know there are no 5-start luxury hotels - just looking for the best!), $$$ Doesn%26#39;t matter.

The last time we went, we stayed at the Terrace and were very dissapointed with the rooms.

Any advice? Your suggestions are greatly appreciated and much needed!!!

ThanK yoU!!!

Where to stay...

I stayed last Sunday night in the Harrah%26#39;s Tower%26#39;s located right next to the Harrah%26#39;s casino. I had a free comp room and they put us in a Suite King size room. It was very nice. The main living area had a 42'; lcd tv, nice dining area, and a refrigerator under the bar area. The bedroom was average and the bathroom had a huge jacuzzi tub, a large walk in shower with dual shower heads. It was a very nice room, probably the nicest I have stayed in Tunica. And they were very friendly during check-in and check-out. You might check that out. The only thing I did not like was you had to walk outside to get to the casino. It did not connect to the hotel.

The luxury rooms at Horseshoe are my favorite. They have a very nice sitting area with a sectional sofa, 3 tvs, very comfortable bed and a marble bathroom. They are nicer than the standard rooms in Vegas. We usually stay in an Augustus tower room at Caesars. I like the Horsehoe luxury rooms just as much. They do not have a jacuzzi or separate shower however.

Tunica does not compare to Vegas in any way. There is really nothing to do but gamble. It is always a relaxing few days away for us though.

Just trying to get this question back in the forefront. I too, will be visiting Tunica and am wanting a really nice experience. I have been to Vegas, and the room was good, but not great. This is more of a stop/excursion during a long motorcycle trip. Thanks everyone.

We ended up staying at The Peabody in Memphis. It was about a 20 minute drive back and forth to Tunica. I think that the Sheraton and Horseshoe have pretty nice rooms, as we checked those out, but we like the Casino at Gold Strike the best; very easy going dealers there...very layed back, clean, and didn%26#39;t seem like people were packed in like sardines. We didn%26#39;t get a chance to check out the rooms there, but will probably stay at the Gold Strike next time, based on the great experience we had at the Gold Strike Casino. Does anyone have an opinion about the Gold Strike Rooms?

The Sheraton has Jacuzzis in every room, with seperate showers, and I believe they have a water closet (seperate toilet). The Horseshoe standard room was very nice... but smallish, and the bathroom was very small...no seperate water closet...but updated and appeard very clean.

We did not go to Harrahs tower, but would like to try that as well, based on the previous post.

The Paula Dean buffet was one of the best I%26#39;ve had, as far as buffets go, but I am not a buffet person, so I don%26#39;t have a ton of experience there.

We actually ended up going a night early, without a room reservation, hoping we could get in somewhere. Little did we know that there was a poker tournament going on and the only room avilable was at Americas Best. Ugh. Not a good place to stay. Hair on our bathroom floor....paper falling off the walls, etc. But he had no choice - poor planning.

Motorcylce trip sounds like a blast! Have fun and be safe!!

Glad you enjoyed your selves. Learned along time ago not to go without reservations...lol

Thanks for your info...will post when i get back... prob going end of mar or early april.
