Biloxi with kids

Hubby and I are thinking of coming to Biloxi with 10yo daughter and my parents for a summer trip. Haven%26#39;t been since pre-Katrina (actually w/e before it hit-and we miss it so!)

Trying to decide on best condo to stay at---daughter is fine with great pool. I know there is a water park in Gulf Port, museum. Does anyone know if there are any mini golf places open up yet Gulf Port/Biloxi area? Go carts? Any suggestions are appreciated.

In Gulfport, there is a boat/ship that takes people out to Ship Island. You can see the blue waters from the beach gulfside on the island. Also, there is an old fort out there. It%26#39;s more of a state park set-up. It docks there at the Gulfport Port area...just follow the signs.

There are several people that post on this thread that know more about childrens%26#39; activities in Biloxi/Gulfport area.

If your daughter likes shopping and the arts....I hear there%26#39;s a neat cozy little shopping village in Ocean Springs downtown. Am I right, folks?

No mini golf or go carts yet. There is a wonderful new bowling alley for families. Not your usual place, it has good food, lots of video games, it%26#39;s fun and very attractive, great for a rainy day or in the evening. I would definately take the shrimping tour, there is a very good skate park if she%26#39;s into that, take her to the fractured prune for a donut where you get to ';design'; your own donut. Ship Island is a nice 1/2 day diversion. There%26#39;s food on board for purchase and you can rent chairs and umbrella. It%26#39;s fun to explore the island and fort, and bring bug spray (tiny little gnats). It is fun to shop along Washington Ave in Ocean Springs, lots of boutiques. Go to Governors ST. which is off of Washington and there%26#39;s a nice childrens clothing store with some unusual items she might like. Depending on when exactly you are going, there are always some kind of events going on. Check out the coliseum on Beach Blvd. for upcoming shows. Go to www.ctyankeeinbiloxi for a list of activities. If your staying at a condo, I recommend Seabreeze as they have 2 pools and one is heated, it%26#39;s also right on the beach. If you stay there, take a 5 minute walk up the beach to Waffle house for some of those great waffles and pancakes. Also in Ocean Springs she might enjoy making her own pottery. Just trying to think of what a 10 yr old girl might like to do. In any case you%26#39;ll get more ideas at the web site.
