Natchez Trace Parkway

Hi,

We are group of 6 adults intends to visit Mississippi on September 2009.

We will be driving from New Orleans, LA to Memphis, TN. Think of starting the Mississippi section from Natchez Trace Parkway to Jackson, stay 1 night somewhere (Where?) and the next day

Continue on I-55 to Memphis.

My questions:

Is the Natchez Trace Parkway nice on September?

What is the most pretty part in the Natchez Trace Parkway?

Any ';must see'; on the parkway? We like picturesque little towns and local food.

Is it O.K. to start driving the parkway on 04:00 pm?

Would you suggest to stay the night on Natchez (What to do/Where to stay in Natchez?) and start the parkway in morning?

Natchez Trace Parkway

I would definetely stay the night in Natchez. There is so much to see and do there. The Natchez trace will be a great drive in Sept. and there are some interesting things to see along the way. I would stop and see Emerald mound on the trace. In Natchez there are several great places to stay, I suggest something in the downtown area , so that you can walk around and see the sights. There%26#39;s plenty of good resturants to eat at and the antebellum homes are really neat to see. Just remeber not to do too much. The whole thing about Natchez is to relax and enjoy the slow paced atmosphere while taking in the sights. Take a horse carriage tour or even a ghost tour while you are in town.We look forward to having you guys come and see us and we hope you have a safe trip.
