My husband and I are going to Tunica on a Harrah%26#39;s junket over Thanksgiving. We are looking forward to it.

What hotel will they put us in, Harrah%26#39;s, Horseshoe, etc.?

Any don%26#39;t miss/miss things to do and see?

Nannerho, we also will be taking a junket Oct. 25th to harrahs tunica. I asked what hotel we will be staying at, they said the Sheraton. Don%26#39;t know if it%26#39;s good or bad. Will find out at the end of the month.

Harrah's Junkets

Nann -- have stayed at Horseshoe and Harrah%26#39;s. Horseshoe was more of a suite, is connected to Gold Strike. Was very nice, had a great time. Recently, we stayed, compliments of Harrah%26#39;s, at the Veranda for a Friday and Saturday night. Was nice, clean, hotel room w/flat screen, frig, coffee maker, etc. Has a shuttle that goes to the casino every 5 minutes or so. Either one of them would not be a bad deal. But, you would probably also want the convenience of a vehicle if possible. Have a great time and win big!

Have stayed at the Sheraton several times and like it alot. I believe all the rooms have hot tubs, and it is right next door to Horseshoe.

The Shearton rooms are very nice with a jacuzzi tub in the room, they%26#39;re like mini suites.

Thanks everyone, the count down is on. Our group of 2 has grown to 5 now so I think we%26#39;ll have a great time. We%26#39;ve rented an SUV and plan to go to Memphis on Friday to see Graceland and Beale street. My brother in law is a big Paula Deen fan so I%26#39;m sure we%26#39;ll try the buffet. I seen many mixed reviews but I%26#39;m open to try. My husband%26#39;s not a big eater so I usually starve when we go by ourselves so I%26#39;m looking forward to having some dining companions :)

The Paula D Buffet is awesome. It is the best home cooking buffet I have ever laid eyes on. Meat loaf, pot roast, chicken casserole, fried chicken, and on and on. Just be careful not to over do it (like I did). Have fun and good luck.

hi everyone. How does one get to participate on a junket. What are the requirements. I gamble at Harrahs in Atlantic City and in Vegas and I have never received any information in re: junket... Any information would be appreciated...thanks....

We finally went on our 1st %26#39;free%26#39; Harrah%26#39;s Tunica junket out of Myrtle Bech, SC on 1 March 2009. I was skeptic of the %26#39;free%26#39; . . . but it was FREE !!!! Going again free in April. Stayed at the Terrace Hotel which was very nice. The trip was flawless and they take care of all your luggage !!!

I am not much of a 1 cent slots person . . . but the .25, .50, 1.00 reel slot machines were just no paying what I thought they should after so many spins. My wife will sit at Wizard of Oz with $100 and hope to win . . . did not happen. She did very good (lucky) on a %26#39;Glitz%26#39; machine. She also played the ONLY one %26#39;Dean Martin%26#39; slot (same as %26#39;Glitz%26#39; with different symbols) until it mezmorized her with the songs . . . . . she did not do so good.

I like to be within speaking range of her so I sat 2 machines from her at a %26#39;KaBoom%26#39; 1 cent machine. Two . . TWO hours later I cashed out wih a $400 ticket. I put 100 dollar bill in to start and it was sooooooo hot !!!!!! Had a real good time with that one. I guess I need to pay more attention to these type of machines. I WILL NOT play those 8 line slots that my wife throws her money into and never wins big. Now she gets lucky when she goes to a machine she has never played . . . . . like the one she won on the last morning before we left. It was a %26#39;Kiss the Frog%26#39; type thing video slot. Hits $200 on the 2nd spin with 30 nickels in. She got ';kiss the frog bonus'; and hit 4,000 coins. Made the trip home very bearable. I went with $600 and came home with $450 . . . . so I was happy with that.

That%26#39;s it . . . . . until end of April 2009 . . . and I will report back then.

My wife and I use one card for all the machines (in her name) and she gets offers ALL the time . . . . and we are not big gamblers at all !!!! I even know folks that will call Harrah%26#39;s and get on the list for free or for a small surcharge. Hope this helps . . . .
