We are coming Ms in a couple of weeks. Plan to drive the Natchez Trace starting from Natches. We also want to visit Vicksburg. Our question is - should we detour off the Trace and take what is marked as a great river road from Port Gibson to Vicksburg. Any recommendations for small towns and other places of interest on the Trace appreciated. Thanks.
