Horseshoe trip report

Hubby and I visited Tunica the end of August for 3 nights. We stayed in a suite at Horseshoe compliments of Harrahs.

The rooms at Horseshoe are the best in Tunica IMO. We had a wonderfully comfortable King bed. The room had a sitting area with a sectional sofa which was almost as comfortable as the bed. Great for taking a break in the middle of the day. The bathroom had a large tub and shower with a marble vanity, tv in the bathroom also.

We ate at the Horseshoe buffet several times. Good as always. We had Sunday lunch at Paula Deen%26#39;s buffet at Harrahs. It is now the best buffet in Tunica. The food was fabulous with an exceelent selection. We had room service breakfast one morning and it was good as usual.

Gambling. We spent most of what we took. We had a few small wins to supplememt. It did seem to me the slots were tighter than ever at most places. We generally manage to leave Fitzgeralds ahead but not this time. Our best luck was at the Sheraton. All of my wins were there to include a 800.00 hit in a Double Diamond machine. I also did well on video poker at the Sheraton.

All in all it was a good trip. Tunica is a 9 hour drive for us so we don%26#39;t go often. I am looking forward to our next trip. Vegas in December so maybe Tunica again in the Spring.

Enjoyed your report. Thank you very much for posting.

I really like the Horseshoe buffet but haven%26#39;t been back to Tunica since Paula Deen%26#39;s buffet opened at Harrahs.

Sounded like a fun trip, we%26#39;ll probably head that way in a few months.

Glad you had a good time and sorry you didn%26#39;t get to go home with winnings :(

We also thought the Paula Deen buffet was great!!!

Thanks for the trip report, we%26#39;re leaving Friday and staying at the Grand. We were talking about trying the Horseshoe and Gold Strike which we%26#39;ve had decent luck at before.

Have comped meals (compliments of Harrahs) at Paula Deen, good to know it%26#39;s worth it!

Sorry, you didn%26#39;t win -- think the economy has something to do w/this, but thanks for posting!

Sounds like you had a good time. I like the Horseshoe also. We try to get down once a year. We include it in our vacation plans.

And Friday is vacation !!!!. Should be in Tunica Monday afternoon so can hardly wait.

Thanks for your post. My husband and I will be going to the Horshoe in a couple of weeks. We go to Tunica every year and love it, but we usually stay at the Grand which is now Harrah%26#39;s. We wanted to try something different, and I wondered if staying at a hotel with the casiono attached is that big of an advantage, since i REALLY LIKED Staying at Harrah%26#39;s. anyway, Im looking for ward to the trip and hopefully we may win something big for once. But even if we don%26#39;t we always have a great time when we go to tunica and we%26#39;ve been going about 4 times a year for almsot 5 years. I let yall know how we like the horseshoe, btw, we plan to stay at a different hotel everytime we go and decide whhich one is the best. Can%26#39;t wait!

gl to you, hope you have big winnings and a great time! I live vicariously through Trip Advisor, lol!

Ashevalley, I agree the Paula Dean buffet is the best in Tunica. The Buffet at the Horseshoe is very popular, was there on Friday ';seafood'; night and it was great with a large variety of choices, from lobstet tail, crablegs to authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I gained some weight. In fact after Friday night dinner I couldn%26#39;t sit down to play blackjack and went to bed instead. Dixie.
