First time to Biloxi.(we spent 2 nights in New Orleans prior to Biloxi) During these economic times we cut back from our usual Vegas get away. Called Beau Rivage and they comped 2 nights so---off we go!!
Impressed right away. It reminds me of Vegas and I am Home! Checked in and room overlooked Biloxi--oh well it%26#39;s free! Ate a quick dinner before arriving so off we go to explore. Went to Hard Rock to sign up for the players card. I read birthday month gets a free buffet (that would be me). Also 50 points gets $10 dollars free play the next day. Played until we both hit 50 (about 15 minutes). Went back to the Beau to really gamble.
Okay to us really gamble is a budget of $100 a day each. (such high rollers that we are!!!) I%26#39;d say the slots were generous because it took about 4 hours for me to lose my money. Drink service is superb. I%26#39;ve never had to turn down drinks before until now!
Next day hit hwy 90 from Mississippi into Louisiana. Just wanted to see how bad! Lots of damage still!! Hope all eventually recover. Our prayers are with you!
Dinner was at Hard Rock buffet. So-so. Lots of crab legs though. Then played my $10--won $125 from that 10. I think I love Biloxi. won another $100 on WOF--never happens to me.Cashed out an walked back to Beau.
Winning continued (up about 500 for trip) and stayed up way too late.
Checked next morning to see if they could comp breakfast brunch. No problem. This is a wonderful buffet.
Packed and drove home (charlotte--10 hours with stops) Long drive-if I can find decent air I will be back!!!

Sounds like it was a great time for you to visit our little Miss. Coast with all the comps from the casinos.
Yeah, a good many empty lots west of Gulfport from Katrina. It%26#39;s been super hard on the other little fishing villages between Gulfport and New Orleans. They just haven%26#39;t had their own finances to build back up like the Gulfport/Biloxi area has. Seems the government has been super slow in finally doling out the grants and funds for recovery in the past years. BUT....they will eventually come back. Those Miss. Coast people are a hardy crew.

Nice job on the winnings!! I never seem to do that well. Won a grand once then played it out the next day.
Getting any kind of decent flight is crazy right now.
Tried to get tickets for a trip in Feb and they want to fly me to Atlanta from Orlando or into NC then back to Gulfport for a hefty price plus traveling for 12 or so hours. Forget that!! I%26#39;ll drive my 8.5 hours and hope there%26#39;s no traffic probs.
Anyway, glad you had a great trip. :)
If you are from Tampa, you need to check out Southwest Air into New Orleans. It%26#39;s an 1.5 hr flight and 1.5 hr drive. Some flights are as low as $57 each way.
Thanks for the heads up BK. I didn%26#39;t even think of flying into NO.
Excellent suggestion, BK! That would be perfect for y%26#39;all.
Another point to remember to rent a car. Alamo has a $10 a day weekend rate until May (I think). Starts on Thursday at 9 am and must have a Sat night layover. This $10 rate is good on any car from a subcompact to premium. Last weekend they gave me a 2009 Charger for three days and with all the taxes the bill has under $60.
RT flight from Tampa to NO was $122. That%26#39;s $180 travel expense. I flew out of Tampa at 6:50 AM and was playing a slot in Biloxi at 9:30 AM
Car rode great! It got about 20 miles per.
