The USS Alabama and Mobile are a good ways east of Biloxi, MS. I would say it takes approximately 1 1/2 hours to get to the USS Alabama on the east side of Mobile.
However, the Ship Island boat launch is in Gulfport, a sister city to the west of Biloxi a few miles...takes approx. 20 minutes to get to the launch.
For seafood, there is Mary Mahoney%26#39;s across the Beach Blvd. in front of the Beau Rivage. I%26#39;m sure there are other seafood restaurants in the immediate area that I can%26#39;t think of. Maybe you could search on T.A. or on line under Biloxi, MS, restaurants. Also, in Gulfport on Hwy. 49, there is the Look Out 49 restaurant that has wonderful seafood. It is on the west side about a mile or two north of the I-10 intersection with 49 in Gulfport.....very unassuming white with blue trim on the building next to a big box store of some type.

About Mary Mahoney%26#39;s: I meant to say that it is caddy-corner across from the Beau Rivage kind of behind an empty lot.....you can see it from the Beach Blvd. If you were to walk out of the Beau%26#39;s front door....walk to the right about a block or a little less.
We stayed in Gulf Shores a couple years ago and drove to Mobile one day to see the ship. Mr. Ducky thought that was the best part of our trip...BUT it was very hot inside (we were there in July)
There is a ferryboat ride across the mouth of Mobile Bay from Dauphin Island to Ft Morgan. Interesting trip for about $20 with car. Thirty min ride south of Moblie to ferry.
Instead of going by I-10, take Hwy 90 from Biloxi to Mobile. This is the old road before interstate. Goes thru some small coastal towns into Mobile. Bellingraph Gardens (if you are into nature and plants) along this route near Mobile. This is the winter home of the Coca Cola founders from Atlanta. Besure to take boat tour of bayou area.
If you want to see real FL/AL beaches with sugar white sands, travel to Gulf Shores/Perdido area on east side of Mobile Bay (ferry ride will take you there!)
Orginial Oyster House along Moblie causeway is good eating too. Locals enjoy. Near Battleship park (southside)...but I believe it has moved to north side of causeway since hurricane Katrina.
This is too much for one day!!!
If you travel on 90 in Pascagoula there is a great local place (little atmosphere) with amazing crab claws call The Catalina.
I realize the original poster has already taken this trip, but in case others might be interested I thought I would clarify this. The USS Alabama is not that far from the Beau. It is only about 60 miles away, and is intersate almost the entire way (except for the last mile or so). It is only an hour trip.
