Happy Holidays to all!!!
I%26#39;m considering a weekend trip to Biloxi for my b-day in March. This will be our first time visiting the area. The main purpose of the trip is to see Mike Epps perform @ IP.
The rates @ IP are too high....we%26#39;re doing a Disney cruise in May......so I need Biloxi to be affordable!
The lowest rates I%26#39;ve found are $80/night @ Isle %26amp; $90/ night @ Palace.
We%26#39;re not big gamblers.......I%26#39;m more concerned about the food! LOL
Which hotel would you choose?
Thanks in advance!
Isle or Palace?
We%26#39;ve stayed at both several times and not had a problem either place. The IP is probably nicer, but we%26#39;ve not had a bad room, they%26#39;ve been clean, good water pressure, etc. But for only $10 a night difference and if the performance is at the IP, I would stay at IP.
We%26#39;ve eaten both places too and probably the food is a little better at IP although the 2 top casinos (in my opinion) at the moment at the Beau and Harrah%26#39;s.
The Isle of Capri is nice, but we haven%26#39;t eaten there although we have in Kansas City and Vicksburg, and they weren%26#39;t anything special.
Isle or Palace?
Thanks for the information. Let me clarify my original post to prevent confusion.
In my above post I%26#39;m referring to Palace Casino Resort for $90/night(currently rated #8 hotel) not the IP Casino Resort %26amp; Spa (currently rated #5 hotel) %26amp; $180/night.
So, please help me decide between Palace #8 %26amp; Isle #12.
Thanks!!
We have stayed at the Isle several times and I posted a review from our last stay with pics.
Never stayed at the Palace but we didn%26#39;t care for the casino so we didn%26#39;t spend much time there. I prefer the Isle for its location and our rooms have always been decent.
If you%26#39;re going to the IP, you may just want to eat there. Their buffet is good and the High Tide is a good casual restaurant.
Oh so IP is double the cost per night? I didn%26#39;t mention in my first reply for you to get on the website for all the casinos and give them your email since we get email specials daily from the Gulf area and Vegas since we regularly visit both areas.
We are not too finicky and mostly just want cleanliness and safety in a hotel (we don%26#39;t use the spa, pool, or use room service so don%26#39;t care to pay more for a fancier hotel since we won%26#39;t use those services so don%26#39;t want to pay more per night)
It wouldn%26#39;t be a problem for me to stay again at the Palace if that was the lowest rate I could find per night. I can%26#39;t speak for you since I don%26#39;t know you, but that is what I would do if I needed to make that decision...hope you enjoy the hotel you choose.
TopekaDucky,
Like you I don%26#39;t care much about the spa, pool or room service. I just NEED a clean room. That%26#39;s my #1 concern. As long as the room is clean then I can relax %26amp; make the most of my trip! I did visit all hotel sites %26amp; signed up for email list so hopefully I%26#39;ll receive a better offer.
animlluvr,
Is Isle located within walking distance of other casinos?
Is Biloxi like Vegas---walkable strip of excitement or do you have to drive to each place?
Has anyone ever booked a hotel through gulfcoastorg? This website has the best rate for Isle, only $79/ night vs $109/$119 on Isle website.
Have stayed at the Isle, Palace and IP. If you are going to be there on a weeknight and not a weekend, IP usually sends out an email with a code for Sunday thru Thursday at anywhere from $29 to $49 per night. This month they did have one for weekends at $89 per night.
Palace web site usually shows a special for $49 to $89 per nights. Never see anything on the Isle of Capri site, but do quite a bit of radio advertising and frequently run specials.
Of the three, IP is best for rooms, food and casino. Palace rooms are alright (clean), food just okay and small casino. But I do not prefer the rooms over the Isle which I find ';tacky'; with their circus colors and decor. Casino at the Isle of Capri is spread out, larger than the Palace, but never have much luck there and I have found the employees to be rude.
You can%26#39;t compare Vegas and Biloxi, they are completely different experiences. Biloxi is more spread out and they do have a casino hopper that will get you to most of the casinos.
You will not be able to walk from the Palace and/or Isle to the IP.
The Palace kind of sits off on its own. The Isle, Beau, Hard Rock and Grand are located right on Beach Blvd.
The IP and Boomtown Casino are down on another street.
There%26#39;s also a casino in Gulfport which is about 20-30 minutes down the road. There%26#39;s another casino on Beach Blvd ...can%26#39;t remember the name...but it also sits on its own.
Biloxi is still struggling to come back from being blasted by Katrina.
Oh Boomtown (couldn%26#39;t remember the name of that one)...we ate the buffet there one time, and it was good BUT that was a few years ago so not sure currently how their food is but IP was still good.
I am a monthly visitor to Biloxi and have stayed at all the casinos a few times. Sounds like you are paying the weekend rates...fri-sat...about half that rate sun - thur. Some of those rates may include some meals. The overall nicest is the Beau Rivage. The casinos are not comfortable walking distances. There is a shuttle bus that runs every 15 min between all casinos (except Gulfport) for $1. Parking is no real problem at any place. Dinner buffet prices run $20-25. There are chain motels along I-10 at exit 46 and 50 that are only a short distance to casinos.
I%26#39;m like the other folks: not too keen on the Palace%26#39;s casino; but actually, I thought the rooms there are fairly nice, cozy, and reasonable in price. That%26#39;s been a while ago...maybe 3 years ago. It%26#39;s a small casino/hotel. Food is soso.
Isle of Capri is just o.k. to me....much larger....food is soso.
I know that the Imperial Palace had a delicious buffet when we ate there last. I would definitely recommend it for a meal. Also, had lots of luck there. Thought about actually staying there; but haven%26#39;t had the luck on our side for getting reasonable room prices there for some reason.
Our favorite hotel/casino is the Beau Rivage...love it! It%26#39;s generous with compas as we gamble there a good bit. Also, we definitely want to try the Isle View in Gulfport...we love their casino and buffet was pretty good as well.....they just aren%26#39;t all that generous with their room comps.
