Who: 2 guys in late 20%26#39;s
Why: Casinos
My friend and I recently returned from 2 nights in the Biloxi area. We drove down from Atlanta on Saturday and left on Monday. It is a pretty easy 5.5 hour drive from Atlanta. Neither of us has been to Vegas before but we have been to other casinos in Florida, on cruiseships and other places. The only places we visited on this trip were the Hard Rock and Beau Rivage. In 2 days I lost maybe 150 on the slots and my friend a few hundred in poker. My overall impression of the Hard Rock is that it is a nice place and definitely caters to be a younger crowd. I have been to the Hard Rock in Tampa and they are pretty similar. They have a nice variety of slots and table games. The only problem I have with casinos is the smoke, I would love to find a completely smoke-free casino. When I first arrived a guy was handing out surveys about the hotel and if you filled one out you got a free buffet so I filled one out. I was not blown away by the buffet and would say the food is maybe on par with a Golden Corral but with less variety. I was really expecting much more and was disappointed having heard before how great casino buffets can be. I%26#39;m glad I didn%26#39;t have to pay for it. I was pretty amazed by the Beau Rivage, that is a beautiful place. My friend said the poker room here was better than the Hard Rock and there was one smoke-free section of slot machines, so atleast they try. Overall we both had a great time if you can call losing hundreds of dollars a great time, but sometimes you win and sometimes you don%26#39;t. Now that I know how easy Biloxi is to get to and how much fun it can be I plan on making more trips down there.
Trip Report: January 24-26
IP on the Back Bay has a non-smoking area on the second floor. Also buffet is better than average.
Isle of Capri had a non-smoking first floor but turned it back into smoking for some reason.

Dwtravel: Great! Glad to hear of someone enjoying our little Coast. As the other poster said, you would probably enjoy the Imperial Palace and it%26#39;s food.....also, the Island View on down Beach Blvd. in Biloxi%26#39;s sister town of Gulfport. Both Casinos are newish and large.
Beau%26#39;s buffet is good and so is Island View%26#39;s. I remember the Hard Rock%26#39;s buffet being rather non-plus the one time we ate there....ugh!
My favorite casino down there, though, is the Beau. I would like to try the Island View one time (if they would just comp me a dang night!). LOL!
Thanks for the response. I did have a great time and next time I do plan on visiting some of the other places around but since this was the first time we stuck with just the two.
Good casinos for your first visit to Biloxi. Would agree with other posters about IP. Better than average buffet and the better payouts at least with the slots.
Glad you enjoyed your stay.
I%26#39;m a monthly visitor to the Hard Rock in Tampa (much prefer Biloxi HR). It%26#39;s getting better with the Vegas-style slots now but with the Black Jack tables it%26#39;s bringing in a whole different crowd and not for the better.
